Helpful in writing

An absolute prerequisite to good writing is having something to say. Good writing is impossible without good ideas. In the words of F. L. Lucas, “writing from an empty head is futile anguish.” You can sometimes discover good ideas in the process of writing your first draft. Those who have something worthwhile to say and believe in what they are saying can be helped toward an engaging style. There are many ways of saying what you want to say. An important step is to choose the most effective style to express your ideas. Remember that the first draft is just to put your thoughts down on paper. The second draft is for clarity, and the third draft is for impact.
